You are nutty, imo, if you don't think she was hot. Watch her move. Listen to her sing. But hey different strokes.

Maybe they could have Patti (or Chrissie) sing the anthem at Bruins games instead of the idiot in the tux. For that matter, I think it might be Pattie who announces home team goals.

I actually don't have a real strong opinion of either, but was pretty sure I could save Benny some face by stirring the Hynde pot and creating a diversion from this otherwise incoherent thread.
Dallas, you've done it again.

I've had a crush on Chrissy Hynde since I was in puberty. Patti Smith not so much. Dancing Barefoot was awesome, tho.

If you don't like RR you aren't a B's fan. What happened, did you switch when the whalers left for Carolina?

Honestly, I dunno, people are so young and/or jaded these days that they don't remember how transgressive punk was when it first burst upon the scene, and how Patti Smith, love her or hate her, was one of the first who embraced that radical change we now take for granted. I wouldn't be surprised if Hynde herself acknowledged that Smith set the stage for the Pretenders moment in the sun. So what if Patti wasn't a hottie, neither is Joni Mitchell (or Keith Richards or Muddy Waters) for that matter.

Johnny Ramone scowls from the grave. He hated that poetry shit.

She didn't have a very long run and she didn't have that many great tunes but Patti is an icon for good reason.
