Shout out to Homemadesalsa and the new format of TAR

I am going to make the lady blush but damn!

When I saw my 1st issue of the Avalanche Review in 84/85? it was 4-5 pages, no pictures, formatted randomly and printed on large sheets of what looked like Gov. Grade TP.

The new issue and the format that our own Maggette has created over the years is freaking awesome. The culmination is the new issue.

Now that is a professional publication.

Kudos on a great Zine and for trolling Buotte.

Thanks Bunion and team. Nice to know that someone out there is paying attention. Full color sure makes those photos pop, eh?

Big kudos to our graphic designer, McKenzie Long/ Cardinal Innovative of Mammoth, CA. She has a great design eye.

So I'd like to roll this into a call for your photos and stories, please. Now that you see how it looks on paper, don't you want your avalanche porn printed too?

    It does look very nice.

That Nick Meyers takes purdy photos. I was pleasantly surprised to see one of my photos in there as well. I think I owe a write up after the California Avalanche Workshop.

I didn't even recognize it as TAR when it first arrived!

(Only downside is the requirement for higher-quality photos -- somebody better get on this at our ESAW so we don't have to rely on my phone...)

The link in the first post is not working for me. It seems the older publications are available online. Will this new one be put eventually, or how would one obtain a copy?

Hmmm, websites must have been updated.

I can't locate the AAA Homepage at this time either.

If Lynn doesn't chime in I will see what I can find for you. AAA has been bugging me for my yearly dues so there is always that.

Check it again. The new AAA website just went live over the weekend. Not all the links might have been fixed yet. As of right now, the overall Pub page link (see above) wasn't working, but all the sub-links are... http://www.americanavalancheassociat.../tar-archives/

We've been waiting to put last year's full pdfs on until it did so. I'll try to get to that this week, and I have a stack of articles to put into the Avalanche Library as well.

I don't post this year's issues up until next year, trying to entice folks to subscribe. If you ask nicely in a PM, I will send you the pdf of this October's issue, or you can grab one at any of the SAW events. Am working on the Dec TAR this week, off to the printer Nov 17.

Pay your dues Bunion! I don't want my paycheck to bounce (haha).

And see you at the MSU-SAW this week?

Yeah I will get to it. The pay portal is kind of fussy and so am I.
I get frustrated and say, piss on it, I will pay them tomorrow.

Can't make Wednesday, I have to spend the day protecting our clean water from the ravages of multi-million dollar homes.
