Taos question
Putting together a trip for the end of February... have option of staying near the bottom of lift #4 (near the Bavarian, etc...) or near the base area. Will probably port in booze/food... so won't need a lot. Are there any advantages to either of the areas? Can't tell if there's anything to do in the base area (bars, etc...) and whether or not it will be a mess with all of the construction. Taking lift #4 gets you to the goods pretty quickly and you avoid some of the early morning rush...but is fairly isolated.
Any thoughts?"Go Balls Deep!"

I'd rather stay down in the village. The Bavarian is isolated.
Admittedly, Taos is small but there are a few places to hang out in the village. Have dinner at the St. Bernard one night at least.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

I now stay near lift #4 when I head down, but usually have someone DD when we do a St. B dinner or go out at the bars down in the base area. Both will be fun, access to lift 4 is great right there and you can pound out a few peak laps then head in and grab a snack, etc, and bounce right back out.

If it dumps, the backside will be closed for avy and lift 4 opening delayed. Base area is the way to go.
