Jones Fracture
That's not a jones fracture, it's a 5th metatarsal shaft fracture. Big difference. Most likely not surgery. I would put you in a fracture boot and limit weight bearing.

Should be pretty solid in six weeks or so. I would give it at least eight weeks before you do any heavy impact activity. Thanksgiving will be about ten weeks from the injury, so you should be ok. The leg may be a little weak from the immobilization, but the fracture should be solid.
Much better prognosis than if it was a true Jones fracture.

Friend snapped Popliotibial sp? Tendon dancing. Drunken dancing has its downsides.
