One site that seems to have detailed info is Avalanche Canada, dig around for their Mountain Weather Forecast.

    spotwx.com is solid as well.

Great day skiing some burnt trees yesterday. Surprisingly little snow below 4500ft in the southern monashees.

As well as the overall forecast on avalanche.ca (which is great) there are also weather forecasts in each avalanche bulletin - which may contain additional local detail (or a second opinion in the case of the bulletins produced by Parks Canada)

Other than the usual traffic down Roberts, Red Mountain backcountry is pretty much untouched. Kirkup had lots of room for extra laps. Where is everybody?

At the end, I was really hoping that you were going to walk right into the hot tub.

How's Rogers Pass skiing? Enough coverage to ski everything?

Really good. Ski everything. Avy conditions ridiculously stable for the amount of pow. The few lines that need big base to fill are still spicy, but that's to be expected.

How is the Nelson area skiing right now? I was thinking of checking it out later this week - it looks like we are coming up on a high pressure system. The bc conditions look surprisingly stable for mid winter.

Deep light powder at all elevations and aspects, and stable on all but the steepest slopes. Might get some strong wind tonight, and an inversion sometime this week, but it's almost as good as it gets right now.

Thanks for the local info! I think we'll bring our skins and see what we can find before the inversion makes things too weird.

yes that inversion left before the damage got too hardcore. Most tracks I've ever seen on Evening Ridge, looked like inbounds! thank goodness the holidays are over! Yesterday I hiked up a southish face and hit lots of refrozen tree drippings. North side was great though!

Man the snow delivered over the holidays! Some of the best skiing over a 2 week period that I can remember. Stability was amazing around here, got to ski some steep shit!

The inversion was insane, -18c valley bottom, -28c at 1400m @800am then about -3@ 2200m a hour later.

Thanks a second time for the local info. We toured a couple of days out of WW and skied inbounds a little bit. Loved it! What a great place you have there. Totally worth the drive even with the white-knuckle 10 hour return through a blizzard.
