    Is there an area you can test without showing up? A good test to see if an acid stain will react with older concrete (it frequently doesn't) is to hit it with a little muriatic acid. If the muriatic reacts with the concrete, then the acid might take well.


    As others have said, concrete is an incredibly variable material, and its very difficult to predict results. Old concrete even more-so.
