What do you look for in a backpack for Splitboarding?
Size?
Features?
Do you use a Camelback for water or just a bottle?
What never leaves your pack? I.E. first aid kit, shovel, probe, etc
Do you use compactor type poles or 3 piece collapsable? Are they inside or out on the way down?
Where are your skins kept

Depends
Depends. Mainly very little
Bottle
Nothing is a permanent except food/water and maybe a shovel
3 piece. In my hand or outside
In my jacket usually but top of pack occasionally."The idea wasnt for me, that I would be the only one that would ever do this. My idea was that everybody should be doing this. At the time nobody was, but this was something thats too much fun to pass up." -Briggs
More stoke, less shit.

I ski, however I do tour with many splitboarders and many of your questions are universal anyway.
I find around 35L to be the most versatile for the widest variety of trips. I sometimes carry smaller or larger, but I could do everything with a 30-35L pack if I wanted to.
Easy way to carry your board in either snowboard or split modes, independent avy tools compartment, airbag, google pocket, good suspension, helmet carry, backpanel access.
I carry a water bottle in an insulated cozy for most of the year, but switch out to a Camelback in the spring/summer when it's warmer.
Shovel, probe, first aid kit, snow saw, repair kit, headlamp, knife, compass, down jacket.
Most spliboarders I know are now carrying compactor poles and carry them on the outside of their packs.
Jacket or pack is personal preference. I generally put mine in the top or back of the main compartment (not avy tools compartment) of my pack.

I don't board but I 've noticed that a splitter using their poles while riding makes a big difference
