If you're having login issues, read this
SO.... some folks have been having login issues where their logged-in status isn't saving when they start a new session. Something got twerked when we updated the single sign-on feature during the development of the TGR store. In case you were wondering, the official TGR store is where you...
As such, if you're having login issues, try this invigorating 3-step process:
1) Go to your browser's settings and clear your COOKIES, not your cache. On Chrome, that looks like Chrome > Clear Browsing Data > cookies and other site and plugin data (see below). Clear back AT LEAST two weeks, better to do "all time/forever."
Safari is our second most-used browser, and instructions there are Safari > Clear History and Website Data > clear all history (see below)
2) If you THINK you have cleared your cookies, but are not sure, open an Incognito or Private browsing window you'd usually use to hide porn browsing from your significant other and go to the forums. If it still has you as logged in, than your cookies have not, in fact, been cleared. Clear 'em!
3) Go in your regular browser to the forums and log in. Should all be set now, and should save your login across sessions."We're in the eye of a shiticane here Julian, and Ricky's a low shit system!" - Jim Lahey, RIP

FYI, just had this issue, site would not keep me logged in. If you don't want to clear ALL your shit, in chrome at least, you can do this:
paste chrome://settings/cookies into the omni-bar (the url/search bar), search "tetongravity", click the "X" along the right hand side.
this worked for me without nuking the zillion+ pws/cookies I need for sites I forget the login info for.

Sorry. I've cleared my cookies several times--it works for a while and then the problem comes back. A better fix is needed. When I keep clearing my cookies it messes up all the other sites I visit--easier to just go to Epic and just as entertaining in a perverse sort of way.
Also, when I try to log in I get a blank page. I was assuming that that meant I wasn't logged in, but when I go back a few pages and open a forum I find that I am in fact logged in.

I'm getting logged out daily on Safari/Mac, no issues on PC.

It's TGR's way of telling you that you need to improve your contributions to the forum.

To clarify: the fix above from me will only help let you log back in, won't prevent the logouts. That is some server-side shit.

The new server must hate Firefox. I cannot remain logged in. I tried all the cookie stuff and nothing remedied the issues I am having.

I'm still having to log in every visit (chrome), and logging is still taking multiple steps to get to an actual forum. I gather that you have given up trying to fix the problem or just don't give a shit.

Calm down and rest assured that Dunfee gives me 40 lashings every morning it's not fixed.
The issue is with how the session records are rotating out of the database. When your session record rotates out of the database storage, the persistent cookie is supposed to add it back. That's where the problem is - for some reason the persistent cookie is not working. That is also why is difficult to fix. I will try something, but will not know the result until everyone's session record expires and the persistent cookie kicks in.
Anyways, I tried something else which may work. I had to shrink the sessions table down drastically in the process though so I expect a flurry of complaints about being signed out - hopefully this is the last time.
