Wow, you weren't kidding. They only have one section called "Smack Talk". I'm registered now.

Spam overlords, tapatalk, difficulty embedding images and video, search function, NSFW bullshit, server room air conditioning, ever more sub forums....

And you guys decide to waste time doing this bullshit?

Yah but they'll add more as it grows. Its been around for a long time. Was popular back in the early 2000's.

Then they got too advertise-y and tgr was a cool place back then, so people migrated.

Now biglines has gone back to user driven content and TR's , and a user based forum simplicity.

If you want to migrate, that's the place to go. It has what we need. And if you email the guys who run it, regarding say adding a biking forum or something, or any other questions, they respond right away, and do what they can.

They keep it simple and uncluttered, ya know, like tgr was 5 years ago.

Yeah, I remember. There were always photo links from biglines on TGR.

They've made huge improvements in both the forums and web content. They've done a really good job of upgrading over there.

I check the content everyday. Its almost all skier/member based TR's with none if the "TGR is sooooooo hardcore we make the best bro brah movies anywhere" corporate shit bring shoved down your throat.

The forums there are a ghost town right now, but that makes it ripe for us to make it our own.

I'm not affiliated with them in any way. Just think it's got some good ski dudes running it.
Interesting- will check it out. This shit is unbearable.

I'd rather not have to have dead white space.... or the fucking useless ads.

I'm not going to add the usual criticism, because enough people are doing that already. And clearly you have motives behind these changes, thinking (I guess) that if you just convince enough people to buy in to your "community", you'll have something worthwhile. But you do seem blinded by those thoughts, it sometimes seems like you guys are so insular in your decision making when it comes to this place that you've lost sight of the fact that while it is your site to do with as you please, there are a lot of members here that mean something to this place, and that in one sense we're your customers, and you're not listening to your customers AT ALL. IOW, you already have a community that you're ignoring as you try to create the "TGR Community". And that's a path taken at your own peril.

TGR web guys - why can't you just revert this forum to the basic vBulletin style, and stop fucking around with it?

Here's some examples of vBulletin forums that are legible, easy to navigate, and -- VERY IMPORTANT -- have not been altered from the basic style:

    http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/

    http://www.toyota-4runner.org/

While I think Expedition Portal has too many sub-forums, that's the only real criticism I have of its organization.

If you still feel the need to fuck around with colors/headers/footers/sidebars/ whatever other shit that I now have to figure out ways to work around, take a look at Epic Ski -- at least it's still legible:

Or, how about ADV? It has a bazillion more members/posts/views than TGR and is impeccably clean, from an interface aspect.

Hey, just figured out a workaround --

At the bottom of the page, on the drop-down menu that lets you pick the styles -- select "TGR Mobile" -- and the header and useless "stash" shit goes away.

Yeah, not sure about the all white but I could get used to it ... you sure miss a lot of Bullshit in mobile mode

BTW if you just ignore the stash box as opposed to dealing with it the stash box does not show up on the next screen you go to

and.... I went back to the regular site. I could handle the white, but navigation in threads and among forums was annoying.

here's another funny thing about the stupid white stash crap. I clicked on the "go to first new post" to see hikesalot's post. That post was entirely covered up by the stupid white banner. Bravo, well done.

When I hit the space bar to scroll a page the header blocks the next couple of lines. The very lines I hit the space bar to read and now I have to arrow back up. I can't take a screenshot. Sorry.

    Biglines is where we're heading?

So why is this whole process always such a clusterfuck?

Classic case of nepotism? Have We got todd's half-retarded nephew, fresh out of computer school, getting the job, or something?

    "Half" seems generous.

But a wise (iron) man once said, "you never go full retard."

I fixed my white screen but I can't handle these huge bars on the top and right side of my screen. Overwhelming. There is no room left to see the thread. I'm on chrome. Maybe if they were 1/4 the size I could handle them. Why does the top bar have be there? We know where to find it twice a year when we support this forum with clothing and movie purchase.

Also, didn't the default theme already get changed to white a while ago? I changed it to blue. Now you changed it back to white so I had to change it back to blue again. WTF are you trying to accomplish?
