    Moving to Salt Lake City

    Hello

I will be flying to SLC on 02/28/2015 for a job interview/offer.

    Just a few questions

    1. Has anyone heard of the company
    Air Pollution Testing,inc

    2. I'm going to be apartment hunting while I'm in town. What areas should I checkout ?

    3. Is anyone looking for a roommate ?

I will be turning 30 in April, BS in geology, moving to SLC for work.

The main reason I'm looking at SLC is because I really want to learn about BC skiing and hopefully find a good group to learn from.

I'm from the east and mainly ski resorts. Now I want to skin and lay some fresh tracks with some good people.

    Thanks for the feed back

Job interview and offer in the same trip? Quite the progressive company, eh?

Try to plan your apt hunting for any day EXCEPT Sunday, it's hard to get shown places on Sundays. Don't live west of State St.

Smmokan - yes I already had a few phone interviews. They are flying me out to meet face-to-face. it's a super progressive approach, maybe because it's 2015.
Actually pretty normal for companies to do this haha

I have big thumbs and tend to hit additional letters when typing on my iPhone.
Probably should have read through my post

I think my resume is good
"Hence the reason a company is flying me across the country" 😉

I can not type on touch screen phones.

state street. its a big street that basically runs the whole valley north to south. learn it and how to count and cardinal directions and slc is easy to get around in: find the temple in town that's the middle of the grid and count out.
cottonwood, sugarhouse are good. sugarhouse is rich in east coast transplants and centrally located; easy to get outdoors but still able to get downtown/better&more restuarants. cottonwood heights is a little removed but right at the mouth of lcc/bcc; mainly occupied by ski bums and mormon housewives.
ksl.com is a good place to find places to rent

wow, i don't think anyone has ever moved to slc with such such bold ambitions.....

p.s. big thumbs and using a touch screen is no excuse for bad grammar.

This guy is going to pioneer the SLC backcountry transplant skier. Personally, I never thought it could be done. Always thought that it was a core group of mormons who dominated the SLC backcountry. Going back like 3 generations of family and it was damn near impossible to break in to that group.

Maybe this guy can somehow find a way in...

That means you haven't been paying close enough attention. Don't take it personal, the guys like to give all newbies a hard time. Someone will soon chime in to call you a JONG and ask for naked pics of your wife/gf/sister. They are kidding, but would love for you to fall for it. Take it in stride, don't be an idiot and you may find this place interesting, funny, and helpful. That's what I would do if heading to SLC. You may even make some friends.

Next year at this time when you're a local and you're posting on here whining about the crowds in the backcountry, just remember 90% of them are LEast coast transient noobs like yourself.
    Hunting kicks ass.
