RIP Edgar Froese - founding member of Tangerine Dream
This band was quite all right in my book. They were pervasive in the field of electronics. Too bad, too, because they had just cut a new album that was appealingly avante gard.
He died of pulmonary embolism...not something that gives you much warning.
His son said it best:
"Dear friends & colleagues, the Captain has left the ship ... I'm very sorry to inform you that my father Edgar Froese passed away on Tuesday afternoon (20th of January) in Vienna. And as you already know: Life plays no encores. Rest in peace Edgar, you will be sadly missed."
Oddly, looking at this video, I keep thinking I'm watching Lego men.
