    WHICH Alpine????

I assume you're not talking about Alpine Resort in the Poconos..l looked them up, and they cost $35/day. No idea what the vert is there.

So you're talking Alpine Meadows - Tahoe. Sure, they're going to be nutzoidly priced...it's California!! But $119 for weekend day rate?? That's nuts even for california!! That's cheap though! I hear Vail is now charging $159 for a weekend full day!!!!

You can ski two hours at night from 7 - 9 pm at Alyeska Resort for $15. That's one-five. Granted, much of the best parts of the mountain are closed by 4pm, but that is still some decent night sking for the cost of three subs!

That guy is being a dolt for not reading the brochure first (although he DOES have one very narrow point that it MAY not have been posted at the ticket window that lift #x requires a beacon, but he's a dolt in that he showed not one iota of diplomacy).

The good thing is that it appears the patrol IS checking to make sure the ridge skiers have proper equipment (well SOME of it, anyway).

I think us PNW mags need to sell our 4wd rigs and go with FWD sedans with all-season tires.
