If near any active volcanos, yes.....lava,

    if not.....aliens?

Actually on the 3rd look, it is some type of fuel canister eject out opt a truck, smashed into the road, punctures and the resulting spill, most likely under pressure and it had caught fire. The "rolled into the woods" was the leftover gas.....you can see the leaves burned. It did not happen very recently, but recent enough.

    Chem engineers would know.

thx, and i agree, i know what i'm looking at basically, as we all all do. the source heat, and the situation is pretty interesting. the trench immediately was clear through the pavement, i know the road. so at 40 plus mph, whatever fell off very quickly melted pavement at speed. i like.

^^^^^This, and the asphalt actually caught fire, as in the petroleum products in the asphalt was the fuel and the spilled chemical was just a very hot ignitor. Looks like the canister rolled quite a ways. I see a mark starting 20 or even 40 feet before the melted asphalt and ending in the woods were it looked like it did a lazy u-turn before stopping.

remember heat is chemical reactive capacity unleashed

heat is energy like light is energy

    google "sodium party"

there's a reason fire geeks doing forensics have a category label "accelerant" and it's self-explanatory

    Meteor.

    Or trucker burrito fart.

If it's in PA maybe there's a coal mine on fire underneath it.

Meteorite if it got that far. That's a more plausible explanation. Even something from a plane or a satellite etc. that fell from the sky.

Mine fires would cause the entire region to implode and collapse from below generally. I know cuz I've seen the damage up close. Lots of long walks thru old anthracite mine fires at home. Centralia is where you're thinking of in PA, ice.

Not convinced there was even fire there?

    Maybe just chemical?
