Dog lights.
So here in the land of the midday moon, the sun is coming up at 8:30 and setting at 4:30.
Much of my time with my pup is playing in darkness. We walk, ski, bike in forests, mountains, and parks with no streetlights.
What dog lights are you using to keep track of your dog?
And how do they attach (just to the collar)?
What dog light do you think works best?

My headlamp, her eyes.
I wear crocs for the style, not the comfort.

I use a waterproof collar that has red led lights inside of it that can either blink or shine steady. i use them to keep track of my dogs when duck hunting in North Dakota in the early morning on the 3/4 of a mile hike out to the slew and in the evening when i'm camping. I also have e collars on them while im hunting. The collars help me keep the dogs from the coyotes and fur bearing animals like skunks and raccoons. Another good option is a strobe bike light hooked onto the collar.

I have been in the market for one of these for my gf's dog. He is a bit of a wanderer combo'd with poor listening skills where as my dog never leaves my side and if she does one whistle brings her running back

My dog has great recall and heel. On walk in the woods we like to let him wander and explore. He stays generally within 10 to 30 yards of us by his own accord. So this is more about my peace of mind in being able to see him in the dark.
Got any links to the lights or the lighted collars?

My dogs have the nighteze as it was what they had in the store when i was looking, I would go for the glowdoggie if i purchase again because of the battery and build.

fwiw, reflective jackets are more visible if you have a headlamp/flashlight
collar lights can be facing away from you or be broken up by branches btwn you & your dog

I'm out every morning before dawn with my hounds and this is what I use. I leave them on their collars all the time and will throw on a reflective hunting collar, if I'm going on a safari. Red and white are the most visible.
Check eBay, there was a place I got ten @ $3ea. w/free shipping.

I used to use LED blinky lights that are attached via a cheap (Chink-made) carabiner to the collar. A twist turned it on. Multiple colors available. I preferred the blue-white lights myself, but then people thought my dog was Jewish.
Here, something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Generic-Blinke.../dp/B0068YWAFKDaniel Ortega eats here.

The problem with the cheap twist on blinky lites is they don't last very long and if you leave them on untightened, they come unscrewed and fall apart.
The nite eze illuminated collar just isn't bright enough for anything more than 30-40 yards.
The glowdoggie looks pretty nice, but kind of expensive. Plus, I'd never leave that on my dogs 24/7.
The Nite eze Spotlite just has the best price/performance ratio for my boys and my dogs are constantly in the water.

I don't use the glowdoggie that often. When it's not on a dog it hangs with the battery up, and automatically shuts off. In the sage and bitterbrush around the house to 100 yards or whatever away, it's very visible. I've tried most of the cheap things and they don't last. Actually there's a free lighted bracelet thing my daughter got at some rah rah concert thing, and it works pretty good.

I haven't tried any of the dog-specific ones, but I just loop a red blinky bike light through my dog's collar. Bright, safe from elements and built to last.

we use the nite ize red led collar...works very well and doesn't impact vision like a white light would.
