Crazy offense right now. Fifth gear. But the starting pitching is still very iffy, and pitching wins the post season. I'm afraid they wouldn't be scoring that many runs against the Nationals.

Babe Ruth gets traded to Yankees!

    The RS will regret this.

I know the Rockies suck, but I thought I'd see at least some hand wringing over the trade of Tulo.

Franco was 49 when he played his final game in the majors. Rickey was a mere 44. Jamie Moyer also made it to 49.

Wow St Louis must be desperate. The Tribe unloaded a really ineffective Brandon Moss, who wasn't even starting anymore, for their number 3 prospect in their highly lauded system - a LHP.

This Indians squad is so infuriating to watch sometimes. Their starting 5 is so fucking good, in my opinion the best in baseball. Problem is their more than capable batsmen never seem to support them when they're dealing and when they do show up, it's a useless blowout of a last place team.

Case in point, yet another CG by Cy Kluber the other night and they stranded something like 10 with one run. One gotdamned run. It's been like that all year for Kluber and the rest of the staff. I can count on both hands, feet, and my wife's hands how many times I've seen the starter go 7+ and get no runs.

Pitching still matters, but hitting is at such a premium these days.

Salazar dealing tonight by the way in OAK; 8 IP and tied up: one to fucking one.

EDIT: Just saw this, and I'm not sure if it helps or hurts my contention. Sabermetrics. How do they work?

    MLB 2015

I think it basically refutes your claim that they are the best rotation. Seems like that's the card. Indians have the league average for pitching it looks like.

On further review that chart is bullshit.

3 CG in the last 4 starts for the Tribe, a major league record 5 starters with 100+ strikeouts by the asg, and that chart doesn't take into account the complete lack of run support. You can't get wins if your team doesn't support you.

    Either way, it's infuriating.

At least Salazar got the 2-1 win last night, going 8IP.

Great moment in the Yankees/White Sox last night. Yankees ahead 13-5 for the top of the ninth, so Adam LeRoche, the first baseman, pitches, and three up, three down. Not the meat of the Yankee order, but, still, pretty cool. His father was a pitcher, too, famous for his lob pitch, the Lalob. He also had four hits, and one RBI.

Cards are cheating. Only reasonable thing you can conclude.

Tribe starters continue to roll. Carlos Carrasco goes 100P, 9IP and gets nothing in a 2-0, 12 inning win, in a combined 2 hit shutout of the mighty A's in their own park.

    Roll Tribe.

9 over 500 in a tough division, and currently in #2 WC spot. Sox are way under. Do the math
