    Cody Townsend snaked my line

    ... so says Travis Rice.

The buzz on the interwebz is that Cody's line of the year was actually prepped and ridden by Travis Rice first.

Not that it makes it any less Rad. Puts new meaning to 'pics or it didnt happen'

Ohhhhhhhhh nice, nothing like some catty junior high bs to kick off the morning! It's a baller line, congrats to both guys. It'll be cool to see how that line gets ridden on a snowboard by T-Rice.

So does that mean that Cody didn't get the champagne and nekid chicks that are waiting at the bottom of every epic line like that?

i guess i know travis rice a little better now. his ego apparently needed to diminish everybody's thrilling experience by making sure we know he did it first. i wouldn't have been any less impressed seeing somebody ride it on a board the "second" time. hopefully somebody will come out and say they rode it before gopro.

while impressive, it's not so much about the terrain feature itself. it's more about how cody skied it like a super human.

i might even be more impressed seeing somebody snowboard through that. with so little space i would definitely rather go 60 mph wit my shoulders square to the space.

of course, now that i think of it, one of the things that made townsend's ride amazing to me was that he didn't know what was in the chute until he went. with respect to rice riding the line first, then apparently townsend didn't ride completely blind. he knew he could get through.

how may different ways can anybody ski that line? the feature is pretty limiting isn't it?

I think there are three options, no turns like Cody, a million tight turns, or sideslipping the whole thing.

of course it matters - Rice pioneered the line, Cody got credit for it. If it was me I'd be pissed. I don't see Rice claiming credit for it, just his film crewing reporting what happened. But Cody absolutely shredded that line and it was incredible to watch, however Rice could have had a bit more acknowledgment for making it happen.

yea I would say Travis wasn't being catty claiming it- it was Curt Morgan mentioning it (who I'm sure was there shooting)
Either way it's sick for both guys. a tad weak though if Cody knew that Travis had just ridden it but didn't mention

Rice clearly had an advantage. Being a goofy rider, he had that off camber section in the choke toe side. Pssh

Does powder magazine even recognize snowboarding in it's awards? No. So to them Travis' line didn't happen anyway.

I just love the irony of all this claiming and back and forth going down on social media when these two guys were relatively close together when it happened in the middle of fucking nowhere both doing something crazy. Not sure I captured the essence of what I meant by that but hey! Skiers win!
