Well that's a first (for me)

car tires frozen to the floor of my garage. Crazy!

Went out Saturday, it was snowing and cold. Came back, parked the car didn't go anywhere on Sunday. This afternoon, got in the car, started it up, put in in reverse but no go. Car acted like there was a chock behind the tire. Got out and looked around, nothing. Wondered if it could be ice - seemed like a crazy idea but its been sub 20 here for days so maybe? Got back in, popped the clutch and the car broke free. Four little ice patches on the garage floor with tread marks neatly cast in them.

Anyone else ever deal with this?

Had my car frozen to the ground at -40. When I managed to break it free the tires were not round. Made for a slow bumpy drive to work.

I've had that happen before. They usually get rounder after you drive for a bit.

Sounds like a remote stater with heated tires is needed here.

I would glue 4 toilet bowl seats to the garage floor to drive up on.

    Redneck fix FTW!

No, can't say I have ever had it happen to me. It did get down to 32 F here once, so I suppose it is possible.

Frozen transmissions, diffs, and batteries in addition to tires no longer round, but never actually had the tires themselves freeze to the ground. Must have been a pretty significant range in the temps between the day and overnights?

I have seen an excavator break through the muskeg at -40C, manage to get out and then the tracks freeze solid within minutes. Operator got out the army surplus parachute and propane heater and took over a day to get it thawed enough to get it mobile. Also seen a very large cat blade with a perfectly shaped hole in the middle from hitting an erratic in the muskeg at sub-40C temps. Fun when 3"plate steel turns to glass.

The high on Saturday, when I drove to town, was around 30 and the night time low was 5.

In the casino parking lots in south lake cars will slide around in park from melting/freezing.

    Totally nuts

Kitty litter on garage floor cures that. Messy, sure, but it does the trick.

Have had dozer tracks freeze to the ground. If you knew it was going to be cold you parked on logs.

I never thought about carrying a shit load of toilet seats to park a 20 ton dozer on, just sayin.....

I doubt a fist would be a first.

Similar thing happened to me but much different results. Parked my car a top of a driveway up on a small hill when it was abour 35F and raining. Proceeded to walk to and from the bars, came home and ordered pizza...it had gotten colder. Sitting there eating pizza around 2am, we hear a car accident out front. We all run out side and my car is sitting in the middle of the road t-boned.

Cops come, I know the guy driving isn't sober since the bars just closed. Cops says whose been drinking? I'm like yeah I've been drinking all night, but I was not behind the wheel. To a bit of convincing but the cop finally bought my story. Guy who hit me was very relieved. Never heard anything after that, limped my car to the junkyard the next day.
