damn. That looks mega tasty. Barnballs, how much was open under gondola? Climax at all? Huevos?? Didn't look like much from website listings, but those seem to be deceiving?? And P2 = paranoid 2? That diving board left frame looks miiiiighty fine. (Gotta resist temptation to leave the ground this early though!)

Cornice only. Rest is rock central up top. 13/14 was best IMO
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

I will be up there this Fri night - Sunday taking it really easy, still nursing my leg a little as I was just cleared to Ski. (In recovery from ACL Reconstruction in May) I am down to meet up for a Beer or Skiing a few easy laps.

What whyturn said - it's still pretty boney on the edges. Drop Out 3 and Wipe 1 are filled in pretty well, as is the gut of Dave's (not the sides - see below). West and Santiago Bowls skied well, as did all the groomers (good wind-pack Sunday!). The Paranoid run-outs are full of land-mines.

Helmet testing at the bottom of Dave's...

Should be back up there Friday.

    Wow! Glad you're ok.

I storm rd all day Friday and got two good laps up top on Saturday then left. It was a zoo Saturday and things got chopped up pretty quick.

    Some shots I snapped.

Not making any turns this weekend, but hope to back at it in Mammoth by the end of the month. Hopefully the coverage keeps getting better in the mean time.

That's some serious helmet to rock-age.

Glad you're ok. Bump on the head at all?

Yea it is season ender ( or worse ) in many of the usual spots-

Way to boney. That helmet is a sign of at least a mild concuss?

...and some still don't think helmets are necessary or useful.

Glad you are okay, helmets are cheap. MRIs and neuro - rehab are not. You could have been drooling in a bucket for life after that.

Was a guy we met on the G, and all decided to hit Dave's.
He hit covered rocks on the lower right-side, and was down for awhile, then repeated himself for about 30 min. Took him down to Mill, and called his wife. Memory returned in about an hour. Real scary.

Just had a rude awakening when I was thinking of heading up this weekend and found out the December 2 for 1 ticket deal is either done, or not valid during the holiday week (which I guess begins this weekend?)

    $114/day. Yikes.

Thats why I buy skins, splitboards and an avy beacon. That and the fact that anything good is gone in the first hour.

Today was seriously good, fairly light snow that wasn't wind-affected. It's still bony in the normal spots but good to go wherever the ropes allow you to ski, just accept that you're going to hit a few rocks.

The weekend was definitely bony, but still fun in spots. Good days to ski with light feet. Dave's probably supplied my best turns. Mammoth really needs that one big wet storm to get things going.

It skied nice today. Wind deposit on Dave's and climax in the morning.
And some nice wind buff under 23 this afternoon.
This place must be a blast when everything is filled in.
I wouln't ski here on a weekend. The scrubbing bubbles of death frighten me.

Guess I will go ahead and throw out my weekly late-week beckoning: anybody thinking of skiing Saturday? Pretty stoked to see the area with Canyon open and 23 turning, even if still bony and spot. Missing last weekend kind of hurt. Kind of a lot...

    Any takers?

The weekends can get crowded, but they really aren't that bad. Like anywhere, it is knowing where to go, and where not to go at certain times, like stump at 11 to 1.
