WTB: Touring skis......again.
Well, after smoking through at least a pair each season from a few different companies, I guess it's time to admit that light skis and me don't mix. I'd very much like to purchase something that will go the whole season and maybe the next as well without delaming, cracking sidewalls, breaking edges, or otherwise falling apart under normal skiing. Here's more detail:
178-185: I can drive bigger, but kick turning and technical ability are high on the wants as well.
100-115 waist: Needs to do everything reasonably well.
Rocker: YES. I probably don't even need to say that these days.
Shape: mostly skiing the PNW, so anything that makes heavy, wet, upside down strangeness more tolerable, I want. Taper, minimal sidecut, rocker.
Weight: Obviously light stuff isn't cutting it, so I'm willing to take a slight beating here to get more than one season of use. 7.5-9 pounds seems ok.
These are mostly for powder seeking , so charger attitude isn't necessary, but if that's what you've got try me. To be skied with Dynafits and TLT6.
They may see occasional volcano/spring traverse action, but only about 20% of the time.
Skis that come to mind:175/182 GPO, 178 Wootest or 180 BC, 180 Convert/Carbon Convert, shorter EHP.

I have something that ticks all those boxes aside from 118 under foot. 178 bluehouse maestro. rockered, tapered, under 9lbs, tough , they even carve groomers well. only downside is two previous mounts(one fritchi and another mystery alpine mount). I covered all holes with binding freedom sollyfit plates(original) for 293bsl. if your dynafits are non radical you'd be set. comes with paper jig for plates (if you have to move them) and all the screws for Solomon and dynafits. tuned and waxed, no coreshots or damage to edges or sidewalls and minimal topsheet scratches. $100 plus ship

Empires are said to have a good rep in the PNW, though they do have quite a bit of rocker.

Check out Down Skis Countdown 102. The dude is doing a U.S. deal and you might try to get a hold of him to see if it's not too late.
