I was in line at a light other day, just minding my own bidness (car was at rest, velocity = 0) and the jackass in front of me whips it into reverse, cuts his wheel and slams into me. He was trying to bypass the light and "get to dunkin donuts". We exchange insurance blah blah...no cops were called (didn't think to), no witnesses came forward to help.

Fast forward one week and the spineless fuck says that I rear-ended HIM!

Then pay your deductible, get your car fixed, adn hope that your insurer chooses to pursue the matter. Because going after it yourself, for a $250 or $500 deductible would be truly bad economics.

I've hit other parked cars when I was a novice driver and ALWAYS left a note (parallel parking). Now I have to swallow a fucking deductible, which I don't have. So the car remains fucked.

This is why I don't let people "give" me the right of way at 4 way stops. Most of them are just passive shmucks who think they're doing someone a favor by letting the other person go first even when they have the right of way or they're idiots who don't know the rules of right of way at intersections but I will refuse to go first if the other person is on my right. It's a known insurance scam for someone to wave you through then drive out and hit you and claim it was your fault for not yielding the right of way to them.

Did you take photos at the scene ? Insurance companies have ways to decipher where/when the impact came from. I would let insurance start the process and take the fucker to small claims, start the process and see what happens. Losers have a way of rolling under pressure from cops, insurance and the court. I would keep following up with police and keep thing as respectful as possible with them. Since you are in B-more maybe you can find Omar to handle this sort of social low life to correct the injustice ?

Both ins companies should take pix of damage to both cars. If it looks like rear end ax damage, your company will pay his damage to protect you. If the damage is to say the corner of his bumper and the center of yours, that supports your version of events.

Guy sounds like a real shitstain. Always call the cops, get witnesses, take pix, etc. This type of crap happens in drivethrus on the reg btw.
