    Roof Rack Rec?

I've been swapping the same set of Thule square load bars from one car to another since the early 1980s.
Unfortunately though, Thule won't have a fit kit for the 2015 Subaru Legacy sedan until the spring.
    Yakima is the obvious alternative.
    Any others I should consider?
Special bonus points if any competitor would work with the Thule square load bars.
    (and thanks!)

Fucking modern Subaru. I have qtowers for cheap. You would need qclips and round bars. I also have a rocket box stickers and steezy.

    Look at INNO
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

I think you can go with the yakima bars and then just get adapters to mount your thule gear. Back when everyone had ski racks and not boxes you could retrofit those. Not as sure about current gear.

Yeah, I have a bunch of shit from both Thule and Yakima and they work on both with the adapters...but it's $$$ for all the extra crap....which sucks!

    Return Everything Inc?

Seriously, though, Yakima makes great stuff. Other option is to get a ski box and put in on the factory rails this winter. Doesn't help with bikes, but it might get you through the winter.

I called -- same story as Thule.
Amazing that they're in no rush to develop a cheap little metal part that would probably gain them lots of rack system sales for a car that's so popular with exactly their potential customers.

If you're already buying the towers and just need the matching bars, look on craigslist or ebay and you can likely find a set of Yakima round bars cheaply.

I bought most of my rack parts used for not much $ and only had to pay full price for the car-specific hardware.

    Let's see:
    - buy a car I want plus spend a couple hundred dollars for a rack I don't want
    *vs*
    - buy a car I don't want yet save a few hundred dollars on rack parts
(Even if the latter was somehow more appealing, would be the Forester or Outback instead of a CRV.)
