2014/2015 Cottonwood canyons official thread

peruvian gulch, some of cirque, and mineral basin were open before this last storm. none of it opened yesterday as they weren't able to get up and do any control work due to gnarly storm conditions on monday, and the canyon closure yesterday morning didn't seem to help speed things up at all.

control work ran pretty big in gad yesterday, so i'm thinking there's just a lot they're trying to catch up on. i'd bank on a lot of that terrain re-opening today and being totally primo conditions minus the debris fields which might be sizable.

For what it is worth, I actually just broke down and called Mountain operations this morning. She agreed that it is all avy hazard. She said it would probably run today, possibly the bowl. She said unlikely cirque open until Saturday, but possibly Friday if the storm allows favorable conditions. She said mineral possibly today, almost definitely by tomorrow. About to leave San Diego. Give me a shout or a text if anybody asked to meet up tomorrow and or Friday.
