So you want to try skimo... (new skis for $75 shipped)

... but don't want to go spendy on those dainty sticks. Cause you still need money for your spandex.

Well, help me clear our warehouse to make room for new skis.

Have a few pairs of Blizzard's Competition Tour Race (I believe it is from 2007 or 2008). My scale has it at 3.6lbs/pair.

    160cm 96/62/90

$75/pair shipped (to lower "contiguous" 48)

I passed this on to a new skimo club that has started in Summit. Hope to get a whole bunch of kids racing this year. Who knows, maybe they will buy the lot from you

Thanks for passing it on. Sure hope to facilitate kids getting some good uphill gear cheap. Still have a couple pairs left so they should act fast cause once they are gone, they gone. PM to secure pair(s). All orders will be processed on Monday.

I figured this would be strangely tempting to a lot of the mag community. Silly and cheap enough to get some whackos who just like various skis. Act fast if interested, down to only a pair or two left.

This is the skimo equivalent of the neighborhood crack dealer offering an introductory discounted special -- awesome!!!

Looks very similar to my old Atomic MX:20.
Pretty much as light as the current state-of-the-art, plus a few trivial ounces.
Definitely more skitterish, and no tip rocker for variable conditions.
But still perfectly fine for fitness uphilling, and won't lose you any noticeable time either on the down in most races (especially out East).
Also great for loooong early- or late-season outings that end up being more approach than ski.

Invest your savings in a $350 Franken econo race binding comprising Dynafit Speed Radical or Turns toes plus Plum 145 heel:
    http://skimo.co/dynafit-binding-toes
    http://skimo.co/plum-binding-heels
(I have this setup on my old Trab Duo Sint Aero skis, and works just fine.)
Plus $78 for 300cm of 59mm mohair skins:
    http://skimo.co/pomoca-race-roll
(Make your own tip attachment from a plastic washer, bungee cord, attached with Speedy Stitcher Sewing Awl.)

Jonathan, if I am the crack dealer you are the junkie explaining how to get the best high! Sadly participating in skimo in the east is about the acceptable equivalent of narcotic transactions. Don't get busted people!!
