Snow in the PNW 14/15: Fuck it, I'm going to Japan.

I don't know why nobody's started a new thread yet since there's new snow in the mountains and people have been getting after it. Go get some because you never know if/when The Child might wash it all away.

Sadly, I've got nothing to start the thread with except for the photos from ski areas that were in the old thread. This is 14/15 snow people!

Remember to check www.nwac.us before venturing out into the backcountry!

Let's hope that neither the child nor the blob get in the way of our celebrations and ski freaks everywhere get some good turns in this year.

I'm betraying my Alpy roots and getting a Stevens pass this year because of dumb reasons and finances, and I even lost my ski buddy to the east coast. That said, the cheap-ass ski shrine has been constructed and hopefully my knee can take some snowboarding this year unlike the last. I pray for good goods.

Pah! I don't need you guys and your ricketty old chair, and it's padded seats... and shot six... and racing to gunmou-aw hell. It's gonna be a long season. You guys will just have to enjoy it double and post pictures for me. This year I'll make it up for long board day.

Good work, mofro. Them's sure some tasty lookin turns. How far up the ridge did you have to carry the sticks before you could skin?

Now I'm no technocrat, but if you look at them image URIs, you'd probably notice they seem to be from Monday. Or Mofro renamed his files to make them look like they're from Monday. Hard to tell since Photobucket seems to scrub the EXIF data from them...

Anyways, I think this one + some effects I added to a copy of it answers my question:

We were able to skin and sorta adventure ski at 5K on 8-12" over mostly grass, but very good snow and turns above 6K.

Nice work duders. Brings a smile to my square ass, which currently sits in Washington DC. Upper reaches of Rainier looked purty white this morn from the airplane.

I hope to provide some fun imagery here soon enough.
