    contoelences, d00d.

I guess this nixes your chance of a Solstice stomp? Rain forecast for Friday is dampening my assault plan.

Potentially. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to tolerate footwear by the end of the week, but the thing hurts more than I expected. I'll be bummed if I have to miss the party... plus I have new sticks that haven't yet touched snow!

So it sounds like some Sunday solstice sliding above Spray/Seattle Park is shaping up?

I'm interested. I can probably drag a few folks down there with me, too.

Well someone's gotta "supervise" the beers at the TH...

Don't worry, I'll be wearing clothes. I got a sunburn on my shoulders from being shirtless for 30 mins while swimming in an alpine lake two weeks ago.

Imma dooma damnedest to peg it up there. Walking in a (ski boot) cast might be the winning option. Anything's possible with the right drugs, right?

When I broke my ring toe a few springs ago, the doc recommended buddy taping it to its neighbors and wearing stiff/hard-soled shoes. Said it would save me a lot of $$$ and be just as effective as those medical "boots".

I'd imagine a ski boot would be similar, provided you don't clamp it down too tight

At least I know I'll have company at the back of the pack

Brian, nice meeting you and your crew on Thursday!
(Great gig your buddy has coaching in the summer, although I forgot to ask him how he swings that with whatever he does the rest of the year?)

Bad news: strong el nino developing
Good news: should still be way more snow than this season

97-98 was a strong el nino, Snoqualmie still had 361", and then we all know what happened in 98-99.

Note to self: start planning Tahoe trip.

Just back from an 8-day high route in the WA Central Cascades. Scary dry. Looks like late September in a bad snow year up there. Lots of dried up streams, dried up tarns and dry alpine lake outlets. Pic of Pea Soup Lake on July 5, 2015 (we skinned across it one year prior, on July 5, 2014):

    Damn.

Just had a thought... It'll be interesting to cruise some of the glaciated stuff this fall before the snow flies. It might be useful later in the winter to have good pictures of the max crevasse situation. Glacier X-ray glasses.
