Watched McConkey on Netflix last night. I'm not a ski movie fan and McConkey was just a name to me. But the film is excellent, although maybe not enough actual skiing for some of y'all. It's not really a ski movie; it's a bio about a skier, or more precisely someone who liked to jump off stuff, on snow or off. Someone who picked a tough way to make a living.

I think the first time Sweetgrass found me not nodding off or daydreaming was with Valhalla. Wacky plot, but wholly enjoyable. The videography in all their films is top notch, but the pace is often so lethargic that it often kills the "meta" angle they seem to be going for. I like that they exist to balance out the "Michael Bay" (excellent reference btw) ski films, but it's often too far the other way.

    Anyway. Snow rules.

Yeah Tangerine Dreams even, or maybe especially because of, the bonus feature on the trip to Kashmir

I definitely agree with most that have been mentioned.

But one that really moved me was "Out of the Shadows" Not a big budget feature, but deserving of a place on everyone's ski flick shelf.

    Swift.Silent.Deep -TGR?
    Turbo - Level1
