wrong or right or counterproductive?
moving this to it's own thread so it doesn't clutter up the goods.

Yeah, let's have a bunch of white dudes discuss the proper strategy for the fight for gender equality.

It's awesome, every young girl should aspire to be just like them and any male who doesn't think so is a misogynistic prick.

What girls? There are like, two women in here, and, as far as I know, no girls at all.
The only thing I can be is a "self-described feminist" since there's no badge available for this.
Now, seriously, in a movement to advance the rights of women, men really need to NOT try to make strategic decisions or give strategic advice. We are limited to supporting roles. Which is fine. There is a whole world of important social justice work out there where we can fully utilize the advantages we've gained as a result of persistent male chauvinism in our society, but doing so in the fight for gender equality is just wrong.

I'm sure these little princesses are going to be SO much happier in a world where guys don't open doors, buy them drinks, or pay for meals on dates anymore. Sorry to burst your bubble little girls, but SOME women like to be treated like princesses.
I grew up in a family where a certain level of chivalry was to be expected. It had nothing to do with sex or objectifying women. My grandfather and dad made sure I opened doors for ladies, pulled my grandmothers chair out for her, etc. It had nothing to do with being a misogynist. Hell, it was quite the opposite, as they were training me to RESPECT women. To show a certain reverence toward them. But then these days, upon opening doors for strangers, I've had more than one woman tell me "I can open my own door, thank you very much," and go in a different door. Those same women are probably asking, "Why aren't there any good guys anymore?" Well ladies, we stopped trying. That's what. You want total equality? Then YOU buy me dinner, YOU open a door for me, YOU buy drinks for me at the bar. But no, I don't really want that. I like pampering women and treating them right. What's so wrong about that? Yes, I know a woman is perfectly capable of taking care of them self. Doesn't mean I don't want to honor and respect them by doing something for them. "GASP! YOU SEXIST PIG!!!"

Oh come on. I thought that was an interesting discussion in the other thread and while I don't agree with most of the points you made, it was something resembling intelligent discourse for a few posts. I don't think you answered my questions by the way.
Maybe we should be empowering white, middle aged men to show their intellectual capacities on ski message boards. It seems to me that a lot of you suffer from peer pressure and socio-cultural influences that dictate how you should behave in order not to be called derogatory words for homosexual on the internet.
spook asked a question in some other thread that was derailed in similar fashion about whether it changes the maggette's opinion of people when they post what he calls objectifying images of naked women. for me the answer to that is no, at least not regarding the type of pictures found on here.
something that did change my opinion of certain people was when splat (I think?) posted pictures of some girls wearing socks and fkna stickers and not much else. it was clear who these girls were, that they were fairly hardcore, semi-pro skiers and simply having a good time. the discussion turned from most people saying "wow, those chicks are cool, i wanna party with them, i wish they'd fuck me, i know they ski a lot better than i can" to a few people saying "yeah, i'd fuck them but i'd never marry a girl like that, they are damaged".
that's the sort of thing I, as a female on this great and increasingly retarded message board, remember, and yes, my opinion of those people is very unfavourable based on comments they made years ago.
and for the record, I quite enjoy the cussing princesses.Ich bitte dich nur, weck mich nicht.

That is all well and fine, but chivalry, especially the southern version is all about protecting the weaker sex and is totally based in sexism., There was a reason you were not taught to pull out the chair for your grandfather, because he was a man and didn't need anybodies help, unlike women who need" protection."
I open doors for women, but I do it for men and kids or who ever as well, it is just courtesy, and I have never had a negative comment from a woman, or anybody for doing it.
I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...iscariot

Annoying video but that's ok. If a few people pay attention and learn something it's a good thing.
Also nudity and sex = good. Porn industry = somewhere between bad and evil. I only watch local, grassfed porn.
Dudes on the internet declaring they wouldn't bang a particular supermodel because of a minor flaw = closeted homosexual or limp dicked loser.
This is a healthier attitude:

Oh, the same thing DEFINITELY happens the other way around. Imagine if there was a dude on here with nothing on but a fkna sticker. You might say, "Hey, he seems like fun. Would love to party with him!" You might also say "He's fun to hang out with, but not the guy I'd want to bring home to meet mom & dad." I've known plenty of females who love to "hang out" with the craziest, raddest guys because they're just having fun, but are not wiling to date those same guys, let alone marry them for the same logic that guys sometimes use.
Times have changed, sister. I think most guys these days accept the fact their ladies might have been around the block a time or two before settling down with them. We'd just rather not know about it. Just like my ladies past and present have typically preferred not to know about my past. I would not like seeing a pic of my SO with nothing but a sticker on the interwebz taken by some ex or fun fling, and she would probably not appreciate seeing nakie pics of me online either. Hell, chicks don't like seeing ANY pics of guys online doing ANYTHING with an ex. Have a picture out there of you on something as innocent as a hike with another female? Brace yourself for the wrath of your current lady. Does that make her a bigoted, misogynist, sexist pig for not liking to see you with another lady friend?
The whole issue you bring up is not necessarily sexist, but rather just a reality of human emotions.

In the interest of fairness, here's a much more rationally and calmly explained counterpoint video with some of the statistics behind the statistics so often misleadingly used:
And to answer the original question, whether wrong or right, I DO think the f-bomb princess video is quite counterproductive, as they use cursing as a tool to get attention instead of relying on effective communication using some level of intelligent vocabulary. Hard to take a bunch of 8 year olds cussing like sailors very seriously, or their puppet masters who are using them to push their cause.
