Good deals?(4x4Renegade and Super mountain)
I was at a swap meet today and saw a pair of Salomon Super Mountains in a 186 with Solly 912ti bindings for 95 bucks. Opinions on this ski? Worth the 95 bucks?
There was also a pair of Dynastar 4x4 Renegades with lower end looks(not the turn table) for 40 bucks in a 187. Worth it?
I dont know too much about either of these skis, but was extremely tempted...

The super mountain was the predecessor to the pocket rocket. They ski fairly similar in my opinion. I don't have any idea if the super mountain would have more life than the pocket rocket in terms of longevity. At 95 bucks with bindings, it'd be a fun ski to destroy in the rocks.
HI THERE!

Anyone have any take on the 196s? (For that matter, any idea what the dimensions are?)

I believe the 4x4 Renegades were similar in shape to the 4x4 Powertrac, but softer. I used to have the 4x4 Powertrac; fun ski, but a little skinny by today's standards. Model year ~1998-99? 4X4 Big and Powertrac were "top of the line", Renegade was then next step down. 103-67-88
I hated the Supermountains when I skied them; they were very soft. 110-78-100Last edited by Mechmaster; 07-14-2006 at 10:34 AM.
