Tore mine 80% playing tennis, followed by about 40 subsequent dislocations. Surgery was painful short term but the long term recovery was a breeze. 8 "anchors" aka eye hooks and some dental floss tied it all back together. Cool scar. You've got this.

hey, Patrick --
... been reading your stuff for a long time --
shoot - ten years ago(,) you were Just a kid ...
I also tore a shoulder this year , but I am an old guy so I didn't think much about it .
a couple links :
http://www.hss.edu/animation-detache...rum-repair.htm
http://www.hopkinsortho.org/labrum_tear.html
you are a young, active guy : get it fixed If you can
( my father had a separated shoulder that he injured when he was a little younger than you are now ;
it was prone to Separation for the next sixty years ...
get it fixed If you can )
(huh. it just occurred to me that you may be off - Insurance .
that would suck . )
fwiw. mine is intermittently Painful for (now) going on eight months ;
it doesn't limit me - except for the Pain., and the neck problem I am having may be from trying to stabilize my shoulder with ( / by ) the surrounding musculature ...
... get it fixed ( If you can ) .

More doctor visits next week on my course of action, one thing has become abundantly clear: I need a real job. Ten years doesn't seem that long ago now.
