I have only used intel procs since Apple switched over from the PPC. So I can't comment on the AMD vs Intel with any real experience so I will not make any suggestions.
And here is a list of cuda cards and open CL cards officially listed as requirements by Adobe. I don't see a GTX750. I see a GT 750 and a GTX 770. But this list could be outdated. I would contact Adobe support to make sure that model is acceptable. I can't for the life of me wonder why it wouldn't but it couldn't hurt to ask.Brought to you by Carl's Jr.

handles my 6d and go pro files with ease and is very smooth in the software. its just an i7 with 1gb gpu and water cooling. 700 bucks and it came with a bunch of extras, legit windows, etc etc. also the case is a tank!

(New Egg sucks as sharing wish lists)
Threw this design together. Even otherwise good looking DIY combos seem to come with 400w psus. The computer simply won't be as powerful as it could be, and then your PSU dies after 6 months of heavy use. You may want to throw an SSD boot drive in there or customize it however you want.
Think of it what you will:

This would be for both work and games. Anything that can do new and upcoming games can edit video and pretty much do anything else easily, except maybe making a 3D animated movie. And it'll be good for the next 3-5 years with minor upgrades. Although, they'll probably change the cpu socket by then, and you'll have to buy a whole new system.

If anyone comes across something this week(end), post it here... I'm looking for a basic photo (not video) editing desktop to replace my current PC. I'm thinking 8GB of Memory and 1TB of storage will be more than enough. I essentially only use my desktop for running Lightroom 5 and surfing the internet.

Oh, I forgot to mention that, for now Im using the i7's onboard video. Something around a GeForce GTX 770 when I can spend more. I just have to update a 10 year old pc for now.

Bump.
Looking to buy a laptop for editing video and stills, and surfing the web. I'm not inclined to upgrade often, so I want something to last.
We're an apple house, but I could be persuaded to look into something else.
Samsung ATIV Book 9 Pro looks OK, but I wish it had a little more power and better battery life.
the:
Dell Precision Multi-Touch Mobile Workstation Computers are similarly priced to the equivalent apple.... Same with the HP Z book..
I could save a lot over the 15.4" MBP that I've had my eye on.... and I think that would have a longer shelf life.
Ideally under $2k but can go a little higher...
I'm not building anything, and we want a laptop.

seems to fit... a little more $$..
Any suggestions?www.dpsskis.com

Buy her a $1,000 laptop.
Build your own $1,000 desktop
You'll get more out of both in the long run.I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.
