Kudos for getting the mad thing done.

Hope everyone had a good summer, the chance of snow woke up my fair-weather tgr browsing and I'm glad to see the new Roll Call running strong. Putting some stuff on gear swap here in the next few days including some camera and ski gear but I figured I'd ask here first, mostly bc shipping skis with bindings sucks.

I have a pair of 184 Fischer Big Stix 110 with 14 din bindings and 186 Watea 106 with the same bindings. They're both likely right on the line for a 326 BSL (EDIT - the wateas look pretty far forward, I'll have to check when I'm back at my house). Make me an offer, looking to hand off in person somewhere North of Boston. Big Stix are super playful and fun in the powder and the Wateas have real solid drive, flat tail and plenty of girth for pow days. Both in 8/10 condition I'd say, maybe 7.5 just because of basement aging. Small nicks and scratches from normal usage, no core shots. I also have a pair of old Fischer Atua, they are 96 underfoot no core shots but need a heaaaavy tune. One has a okay condition Naxo on it, the other has a broken Naxo (just the toe). Free to first person to buys one of the other pairs.

Those Watea's are great EC skis - possibly even a 1 ski quiver for the non-gear whores who are into that kind of thing. Stable at speed, edge well, turn fast, crud busting, and they've even got a little float. IIRC, they're even skin friendly for those of you who enjoy skiing uphill. I have the prior year model that I made the mistake of mounting with tyrolia peak 15's that are either shitty, defective, or I've never been able to dial in the forward pressure correctly because I walk right out of the bindings in heavy snow. I put them away 3-4 seasons ago and still haven't gotten around to re-mounting with a binding that doesn't constantly release on me.

^^^^^ Width would help (since Big Stix and Wateas come in multiple widths). Well made skis.

^And just in the nick of time...

Many thanks to VTF for bringing his tools, knowledge and mad skillz while giving up a day to help me get my standing seam roof on... LET IT SNOW!

(And, of course, thanks to Ullrfest and the ice luge where he made his drunken offer of assistance)

The early rain resulted in a late start and it was getting dark by the last pan. Thanks for dinner and the single malt.

In preparation for night riding season we busted out the headlamps last night for a short pedal. It's funny how what takes 40 minutes in daylight is an hour at night.

I'm still digging my geomangear magic shine with the updated battery pack.

Sure is. The lower trails are all blown, the upper grey trails are leaf slick. We should ride sometime.
