Mike, there doesn't seem to be much in the history section about helicopters...

The book on the history of skiing in Revelstoke has a picture of people going heli-skiing in 1964.

I have submitted the article at Ski History Magazine. They seem to be willing to look at it this season vs. somewere off in the future. We'll see what happens.

    VERY cool video Mike!

It matches up with some still photos I have.

My research says this was in 1957. But, the music here is Herb Albert and The Tijuana Brass; The Lonely Bull.

For the last couple years I have been researching the VERY early days of heliskiing history.

In the Fall 2015 issue of the Avalanche Journal (Canada’s avalanche association publication) a condensed version of my paper/article has been published.
It will be awhile before the article is available on-line. But, if you’re super interested, you can get a copy of the issue from the CAA.

It feels good to finally have my research published.

The background music may have been added in after digitizing to put on YouTube. Not necessarily a time-link there.

Yes, your correct. But, they were still skiing in 1957.

Yeah, not arguing that. Timing wise, the Lonely Bull came out in 1962 (Googled it; didn't know that off the top of my head) which was my point about not having a time-link. I believe the skiing in '57. Great find!
