    TR: Patagonia cruising

    Some more pictures from SA to help with my current bout of back home blues.

    We did some roadtripping around Patagonia, which I always enjoy.

    Okay then, let's go for a walk

    freak took this picture of me actually skiing on snow

    OMG

    For our last ski days we headed to Tronador and enjoyed a highly unusual day without wind or clouds. Arriving at the hut:

    and booting up the last hundred meters or so, in the shadow of pico argentino.

    Summit view

    DSCF2530 by klar01, on Flickr

    The last pitch to the summit of Pico Argentino is the only steep-ish terrain on the normal ski route. Mostly it is a flat cruise

    with questionable snow

    DSCF2546 by klar01, on Flickr

    in awesome scenery.

    DSCF2562 by klar01, on Flickr

    As usual it was hard to leave despite some bad luck with weather and conditions and I am very jealous of the people still skiing down there. Eased the transition back home with a few days of field work - no skis but a little bit of snow to help with the optics.

    just another day at the office

    DSCF2711 by klar01, on Flickr

    with a lot of holes to fall in to keep things interesting.

    DSCF2749 by klar01, on Flickr

    This could almost be a volcano.

    DSCF2715 by klar01, on Flickr

    But no, we're definitely in the Alps again.

    DSCF2785 by klar01, on Flickr

    But we still like to think back to those winter in summer sunsets on the promised land….

    more words and pics on link in signature. Also, I am new-ish to instagram and would like a feed with lots of snowy pictures, who is on there?

    Wow, that terrain is just unreal.

    Nice shots as always. that one of you skiing is worthy of bit higher profile than a TR.

    Beautiful as usual. Ka pune kup.

    But I couldn't help myself:
    All the slopes are brown and the sky is gray.
    I've been for a skin on a winter's day.
    I'd be deep in pow if I was on the Marte';
    Patagonia cruising on such a winter's day.

    Stopped in to a hut I passed along the way.
    Well I got down on my skis and I pretend to pray.
    You know the hut keeper liked the cold;
    He knows I'm gonna stay.

    I've been for a skin on a winter's day.
    If I didn't tell her I could leave today;

    Buster had me smiling and I was going to tell him that Marte isn't in Patagonia but I was switching around between a few different open tabs and I just saw this and now I can't say anything except please let it be some sort of mistake.

    (I know Marte is in Lenas, ...but it rhymed)
    Not meaning irreverence ... but this is so out of context to the news.

    Devastated...I love Fransson's spirit.
