I spend less time in Tech talk now than 4 years ago. Skis are significantly better, there are more options, touring bindings are significantly better, etc. It used to be that what ever you purchased there were going to be substantial compromises, so it took a lot of research to try to figure out what you wanted. Now the compromises are less and I research less.
