Question for anybody here from Calgary/Canmore area.
I'm from Calgary but going to school in saskatchewan. I am coming home for the thanksgiving weekend and was hoping to get some riding in but I have absolutely no clue what conditions are like back west. Is there any snow in the highwood pass/kananaskis area right now or is that all gone from the high temps the past few weeks?

Snows gone right now, but its a crap shoot that time of year.

Do you have any touring gear, or experience?

I have all the necessary gear and have been an avid backcountry user for years. Just made the mistake of finishing my degree in the middle of the prairies.
Any snow forecasted for this week or am I out of luck until my november reading week?

Spam-ish... but the Intuition group buy thread is potentially open to Canadians this year with a guy in the Squamish area who will do the arrangements for sending out Canadian orders... if there's enough people for it to be worthwhile.

I'm hoping I can get mine, so if any of you need a deal...

Yeah I read that too, but it's already got the $6 shipping to Canada above it. They charged me $16.

anyone know of anyone who is looking to make some money before ski season? I have an X-mas light installation job available from Oct-15 to Dec 15 available in Calgary. Make good money. Work less this winter and ski more! Potential to move up quick and run a crew.

Found some really good people on TGR a few years back and hoping for the same. PM me for details or interest.

    Thanks

Lodging question for the Calgary/LL/Banff folks - we're going to head up in late Feb, and wasn't sure where best to set-up shop to ski LL/Sunshine. We're going to have a mixed crew: couples/singles/hard-core/casual, and would probably prefer close proximity to a town/bars/eats - if that's an option. We'd probably rent a house and drive out to the different areas based on conditions. It's hard to tell from the web-sites if there's a central town, or just scattered lodging between the resorts.

Thanks in advance - and stoked to sample the Canadian Rockies!

Banff is the town. ~20mins to SSV, ~60min to the Lake. I guess Canmore is another option but adds 20mins each way to the drive. Plenty of dining & drinking options in both Banff & Canmore.

Definitely Banff. There's fuck all in Lake Louise if you guys want to do town things. Lake Louise is 40 minutes max doing the speed limit.
