I'll be up there today trying to cure this illness that has kept me from work. Olive/black jacket, black pants, green helmet and shiny goggles. On older bro models.

Nothing like hucking off features on a low tide season.

So looks like Whistler is the spring ski hill this year, to bad they aren't keeping Creekside Gondi open.

Yeh it's actually less convenient than BC, no parking right by the Gondi.

Legs are getting tired, but gotta milk those last few days of great conditions. Who's been Duffey way lately?

Drove thru yesterday. There is no snow on the Duffy. Sure you could drive quite a ways up the FSR's. So if you don't own a sled this might be your chance to shred the goods up there, with a good 4X4. There were a few souls backpacking their skis into Kieths hut, but besides that soul less.

Hopefully these last two seasons of Duffey suckage will thin out the herd a little. Would be cool to have to have the Duffey deserted like back in the day.

I'm headed to Whistler this weekend, likely arriving late on Friday and leaving after skiing on Sunday. Anyone have any recommendations on reasonably-priced places to stay that are either walking distance to the W/B lifts (not Creekside) or on a free bus line to the base? Alternatively, anyone looking to rent out a bed in your place for the weekend?
Thanks for the advice/housing offers, I'm happy to reciprocate once it snows in Mammoth and you actually want to ski there.

Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Let's not talk about the forecast.
There are spots for ~$100/night on the WB website. I'd try with priceline too since it's getting to be shoulder season.

Went out to Fissile on Sunday. Started skinning up to Flute at the crack of 11 am (due mostly to my tardiness) with the intention of riding the Banana chute on Fissile Peak, a line I have long coveted. We first tried to gain the ridge via the west face but came up about 20 m short because we are geniuses and didn't bring crampons and ice axes ("uh... i think we should be able to skin right to the top"). Rode down the west face, which was decent consolation for our failure. At this point it was 3:30 and we debated whether we had enough time to try to boot straight up the chute. After confirming we all had headlamps, we booted up the Banana and rode almost all of it. Google earth says we actually did about 80% of it depending on what you call the bottom. We'll be back, properly equipped, to try for the NW face. With another dump scheduled for this weekend, looks like winter is making a late comeback.

Yup, should totally be able to skin to the top of that thing

nope, figured we'd have to walk the last few km if we did. i've also heard it's always a terrible experience on a splitboard. skinned back into flute and was able to ride down to within a 1 min walk of the village. this was last weekend though. might not be doable now.
