adjustable angle headset que
I've got an 05 ish rocky MT slayer. It climbs really well and is all right on the down but nothing like a free ride bike. It has 1 1/8 headset and head tube. I've seen adjustable angle headsets for 1 1/8 steertubes but they all seem to be for 1.5" head tubes. Does an adjustable headset that fits in a 1 1/8 head tube exist?

My new frame is adjustable 1 degree total by .5 of a degree (66, 65.5,65). You would notice .5 degrees. 1 while not huge is quite noticeable . My fork is a touch longer axle to crown so bike is almost .5 degrees slacker in each setting. I find 65.5-66 to be where I like it as my daily xc/am pedaler

Its noticable, my prophet is easily adjustable between 67.5 and 69 by moving the shock pivot and I notice a fair difference, I leave it at 67.5, that said the slayer isn't gona be an FR bike by changing the head angle 1 degree less
I seem to remember you also get 1 degree by putting a 1" longer fork on a bike?
what head angle did the 05 slayer come with?Lee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

Yup 1" higher front end = 1 degree. I guess you also have to decide how much abuse an 05 bike has had and is it worth it to put a $160 headset on if the frame may be reaching its final days. $40 offset bushings may be a less risky venture

I got a new rear triangle just before warranty ran out. I put on new pivot bearings at the time. I only rode it for about 4 years before getting something bigger and more suited to my local trail. Not thinking free ride bike, just a little faster on the down. But ya, $160 is probably more than I should spend on it. I've got a real nice rasta colored Chris king headset in one of the boxes of shit left over from the bike shop I once ran. Maybe I'll put that on. Most likely I'll be lazy and keep running the one on it.

I put a 1.5* Works headset on my ReignX (67* stock), and it's a big difference. (The lower cup is external, so it also adds some height just like a longer fork would. Probably ends up being 2*.)

not adjustable but a much cheaper option:

I just put a set of these in my status because no one made an offset headset.

Another vote for the Works Components angled headset. I replaced the Cane Creek Angleset that I had on my bike as the gimbal kept knocking no matter what I did and I could not be happier.
