Wanna Win Premiere Tix for Higher? How About a Splitboard?

    Eh mags,

Wanna win a pair of tickets to a premiere of Jeremy Jones' Higher? Trailer below:

We've got a full line-up of premieres that you can see here, starting with the world premiere at Squaw on September 6th. We're doing a "Go Higher" contest over on the TGR Community, but I've diverted some of the flow of tickets over to here to just give away to mags who drop a line on this thread.

From now until September 5th, I'll be giving away two pairs of tickets to a premiere of your choice on a weekly basis. All you have to do is drop a line on here. If you want to stand a better chance, write something funny with "Higher" in it. I'll PM two winners weekly (you can only win once), to whom I will orchestrate a pair of tickets to the Higher premiere of their choice.

Now for the Grand Prize - A Jones Explorer Splitboard and a pair of limited edition Higher Karakorum split bindings - you're going to have to work a little harder. On the 5th we'll be picking the person with the best entry that is a "a photo, video, or story about how you’ve pursued a dream big or small–could be mountain adventure, a recent road trip, or even just learning to surf," as the guys over on the Community side have to do. Just drop that into this thread and you'll be eligible to win, brah.

    Get Higher!

So I'm going to bump this because LITERALLY all you have to do to win a pair of Higher premiere tickets is post something in this thread. I.E., the first person who posts after this I will give a pair of tickets to.

    Any takers?

I wish Bogus Basin were HIGHER cause global warming is killing our snowpack these days. Hmmmm, I guess that isn't real funny, it may be too close to the truth. But I'd definitely like to get my chances higher to see the TGR version of "Higher". Put me down for two in Boise, please!

It looks like there is no premieres close to my home. Maybe I could get some plane tickets to a higher elevation to view such an epic movie. Maybe if I'm lucky, one of the tgr guys can take me to a higher state of consciousness before the movie. If that's the case, if be sure to buy a case of Miller Higher life to share with the people surrounding me at the higher premiere.

    Hook it up!

    MT represent!

Here are a few of the adventures I've done with Deeper as my original inspiration:

    MT Blackmore, MT Ascent/Decent:

    Arrowhead Peak, MT:

To expand on this a little:
A few years back I was finishing up my Bachelors in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Illinois. I had been skiing all my life (although it was usually only a few times a year) but I began to get more and more obsessed with the idea of living in the mountains and enjoying that sweet pow. I finally made the decisions to kick it into gear and graduate a semester early in order to move to Montana and take a season off before I applied to grad school. I didn't realize at the time that this decision would consume every bit of my life and I would gain a passion I never knew I had. The first season living in Bozeman was heaven. I had saved up enough money to avoid working and I would board every day that my muscles would let me. I had never really experienced powder before and I was immediately hooked. I would drag myself behind my roommate (who had a splitboard) sweating though every step and struggling to keep my boots from sinking in on every step. It was worth every second of agony.

As the season began to wind down I was on my last few dollars and eating ramen noodles on a daily basis. I decided to get a part time job fixing computers which allowed me the flexibility I needed. I spent the whole summer saving up money and eating cheap food. When it came time to start looking into grad schools, I decided I wanted to take another season in the mountains and threw all my savings into a Jones Solution Split. This was the best purchase I ever made. I could finally tour in deep snow without becoming massively frustrated with every step I took. I was able to explore areas I never dreamed I would ski. It was my second season in Montana and I was loving every minute of it. I even began volunteer ski patrolling so I could get a resort pass I would have never been able to afford otherwise. My first "real" peak was the first video I posted here: Mt Blackmore, in Hyalite Canyon. I felt so accomplished and exhausted.

Finally spring began to come around again and I knew I needed to make a decision. Luckily the decision was easy and I decided to extend my hiatus once more and enjoy one final season in Bozeman (you're only young once, I can go back to school when my knees give out). This past season was the best powder season I had ever experienced and I was lucky enough to experience my first snorkel day with snow flying over my head without even turning. It was absolutely amazing. I met a friend with an extra snowmobile and he graciously took me with on some day trips into the Northern Bridgers (second video). The terrain in Fraizer and the surrounding bowls was absolutely phenomenal.

After 3 seasons on hiatus, I knew I couldn't put off school any longer. However my obsession was still rampant and I only applied to schools near the mountains. I was asked to interview at the University of Montana and during the recruitment weekend Missoula was bombarded with over 3 ft of snow (of course I brought my split along). I was sold. Now I'm sitting here in lab just beginning the journey of working towards my PhD in Biomedical sciences. I still think about snow every single day and I eagerly await the winter so I can spend my weekends in the mountains.

My decision to take a ski-bum hiatus was the best choice I've ever made and it will stick with me forever. If you're interested in seeing more of my video adventures check out my youtube page.

Since the price for a Jones stick cannot get any higher, I'm down for tix to the NH show if it buys a chance to win some of the hardware he manufacturers in his free time.

I'd like some tickets to see higher to remind of the times I lived in a higher state, and motivate me to get back.

Our neighbor (I'm on the opposite side) needs to use orange cones that are a little "higher" so TGR employees won't park in his driveway.

    Jackson show please!

sideways-sliding Seattle mag here, would appreciate a pair of tix for that show at the Neptune on 9/18...

... even if the film is just 90 minutes of Jeremy & co. sitting on a couch getting higher than they've ever gotten before.

Is like 2 tickets to a Denver/ boykder showing. I just got accepted to nursing school so I won't be able to get "higher" for the show, but it would be really sweet to take a study break and see such a high(er) quality ski porn!
