    Boyhood

    It's... lyrical. Great film.

Watched it this weekend, a lot of it resonated with me, I was raised by a single Mom with a bad taste in men. I love the shit out of my Mom and cried for most of it.

    Highly recommended.

I went in somewhat skeptical despite being a Linklater fan... but really enjoyed it more than I expected. I had a happy family experience growing up but could still relate to it in other ways and it still hit me. Much like with Dazed & Confused he just nails that feeling of youth. Pretty amazing he's still got it after all these years.

Obviously an interesting concept. Had a sense of impending doom throughout though, which was probably by design.

I liked the concept, but thought it didn't work that well as a movie. Something about it just didn't click with me - didn't really connect with the characters.

But since some of my favorite movies are Linklater's Before Sunrise / Sunset, I'll watch anything he directs.
