Cool. George Miller is the man.
Wonder if Mel does a cameo.

I suppose you were looking for something a little more high-brow?

Hmmmm......a continuous chase scene. Bold.
"Miller had said that Fury Road will extend the story of the original film, and will be "almost a continuous chase". "Chase movies are the purest form of cinema," he said. "[I] wanted to make one long chase and pick up the story along the way. It was certainly familiar, but a lot of time has passed, the technology has changed." There wasn't a conventional script, but a detailed storyboard put together by Miller and his co-writers, chief among them the British comic-book artist Brendan McCarthy."

Love Mad Max and apocalyptic shit. Hate that all Hollywood does is reboots but if its good Im in. Looks like it and they have some solid people behind it.

Didn't think the reboot on Total Recall would do it for me, but it did.
I can enjoy the hell out a thin plot amidst good endless action.

one of the living is a seriously bad ass song. probably the most overlooked tune in all of the 80s, though understandible as it was attached to a horrible movie.

Except that he also was responsible for the third film; "Thunderdome" really sucked. It was just hollywood style visual spectacle spread thinly over a moronic, implausible plot. It had NONE of the gritty realism of the first two films. "Thunderdome" was so lame it killed off the franchise for 20 years. They couldn't do a reboot until everyone forgot how dumb that last one was. Unfortunately, in the promo, I can see more of the stupid costumes and excessively silly stunts from "Thunderdome" than I do original "Road Warrior" gritty chase scene elements.

Most third sequels suck. The temptation of the paycheck seems to corrupt everyone involved.
I have hope, but, we all have seen what happened to John Carpenter at the end. Coppola doesn't even try anymore, for decades now.

FWIW, there was a time when Heath Ledger was on board to portray Max and the film was scheduled to begin production in 2003...

I personally think that it's a bit of a traviety to have a Pommie play Max, though...

Loved Mad Max hated Thunderdome. What made MM so good was the family man completely unraveling and the high speed chases which were filmed at actual high speeds versus the stupid chase scenes where the cars are going 50 mph next to 20 mph to give the illusion of speed. I love seeing the center lines blurred like you do at triple digits
