I think most, if not all, professional flag footballers do not work Fridays.

There are pro flag football players? As in paid to play pro, or "I get to use a pro-form and people in the industry will give me a bro shakah and say s'up and I can live vicariously through their private social media presence" pro's?

Wow, the angst you exhibit is right up there with postal service mass murderers, all except you think your salary makes you "special".

No wonder you are so mad all the time.

My job particularly kinda sucks for this. Some weeks I'll bill 60-70 hours, then the next week I'll only bill 20 or 25. It's just the nature of my business. But even though I work way more than my allotted hours when I"m busy, I never get to peace out when my work is finished on slow weeks.

I think the whole idea of having to be in the office 9-5 is such bullshit. I'm an adult, I know my deadlines. If I want to bail at noon on a Friday to go fishing, and finish my shit on Sunday morning, who cares?

A bunch of old, whiny, busybodies is who cares.

Trick is getting paid enough to be able to do something on your Friday off, besides pulling your pud.

Working a Saturday to have Sun-Tues off during ski season is tits! Wanna know how to solve the I-70 skier traffic problem?
Working 4 - 10's ruins you. Our miners are 4 on 4 off, and most foremen work 4-10's. The rest of us work 5 days a week. We interviewed about a dozen engineers and geologists over the last year, and every one asked if we worked 4-10's or 5-8's. We told them 5-10's, and for some strange reason most of them turned us down.

That said, it's pretty rare to see anyone still around after 3:30 on a friday, and it sure as he'll isn't expected or encouraged.

I've been doing the Friday's @ home thing for ~4 years. I'm not out, but I'm not in, and I'm usually not available. That said, I'm always available for important shit, regardless of the day/time. I negotiated it into the deal when taking my current job. It's awesome, but now even 4 day work weeks are painful and going back to 5 would be soul crushing. A not so small part of the misery is the 1:45 commute of car>train>walk. Wife has actually been working, just doing it from home, on Friday's since the little dude was born 5 years ago.

It's pretty nice. I can get local errands done that can't be handled in the city, and relax a bit. My non-ski season schedule has generally been: drop the boy at pre-school, go to the range, go home, have lunch, get stoned, surf the net, take a nap, pickup child from school, go to dinner, do something fun with the family, put the kid to bed, get stoned, sleep, wake up & enjoy the weekend.

In the past we'd use it as an excuse to goto VT on Thursday night, or early on Friday. With the boy starting school in the fall, we'll likely be waiting for school to be over before leaving this year.

In college I seriously thought about being an accountant, but then I realized that tax season and ski season overlapped way too much.

Aerospace 9-80. 26 extra days a year. Now I just need to get to Utah for the 4-40 week
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
