And Yeah, the garden is taking off: lettuces, basil harvests, tomatoes bulging, dahlias flowering, hydrangias bursting.

More like this but less aggro.

My kids are actually very good bodysurfers for their age, and will spend hours catching and riding actual waves, not just standing in the shore-break. A nice, slowly peeling right, common in the EC wherever there's a sand bar, is a thing of beauty. "Glass-off," when the wind switches from on-shore to off-shore, smoothing out the waves, usually happens around 5-6:00pm, when the lifeguards have gone and there's nobody blowing their whistle at you.

It's... serene, like a 6" powder day. Nothing epic, just wonderful.

Boat rides in the winter. Too f'n hot right now.

That feeling when you just know a fish is gonna bite on the next cast, and it does.

Getting the entire meal to come off the grill or stove at the right time, so that everything is hot without having to re-heat. True art form.

A perfectly laid frontside turn on a snowboard in deep pow. There is no other feeling like it, even though I consider myself a skier.

Watching my daughter dance with her dance company at age 6, and knowing that, even though she is a head or two shorter than a lot of the kids, she is one of the best out there. That, and the fact that she LOVES it. Which is all that really matters.

Watching my other daughter try to copy the 6 year old, because she is in awe, and wants to be just like her.

I tell you what's good: not feeling like shit. For years I was slowly dying from being poisoned by way too much iron in my system. I hung in there but felt worse and worse and worse. Then I nearly died. And now it's fixed. It's not like I'm superman now, I just don't feel like absolute shit all the time. Best thing that ever happened to me for sure. So here's a big thumbs up to normal.
