Mt Bogong avy fatality 7/13
At least one, likely two fatalities this past weekend on Mt Bogong

Here's the slope in question.
The average pitch is 35 degrees. Just below the top is a convex rollover to 40 degrees. As you can see, it funnels into a narrow gully with trees at the bottom. Quite the terrain trap. Also, the slope gets wind-loaded from the prevailing wind. At the time of the avalanche there were storm conditions.
