It's on many other tech sites as well. Still a rumour, but one that is pretty convincing.

You can squeeze in a lot more battery if you remove the headphone jack. With the purchase of Beats, Apple will be offering headphones that plug into the lightning connector. It wouldn't surprise me, but it's stupid as fuck.

The 1/8" headphone jack is tried and true. It is elegant and pure. It should remain.

huh? Why would they develop this when the trend is going to bluetooth headphones?

That said, 3.5mm is where it's at.
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Bluetooth has inferior sound quality. The other reason is they can force untold numbers of people into buying new Beats headphones or some stupid adapter.

What I don't understand is why people continue buying Apple products after they continuously make changes designed to force consumer to buy certain (other Apple) products that don't work with, oh, every other company's products in existence.

But Apple's been doing it for years and everyone still buys their jank, so I don't see why this will be any different.

blah, blah, blah....we've been thru this a million times. There's apple people, there's non-apple people. Skiers and boarders. Meat eaters and vege-heads. Golfers and bowlers. People who write etc. and people who write et cetera. Etc...

The only reason I still use macs is because I have a burning hatred for Windows, and everything music/photo/film I do is already setup for Apple. No iPhone here, and I don't see myself getting one.

Apple truly did used to be better (and I think the OS is still better, god I hate Microsoft), but that QC went away years ago with the advent of marketing to the consumer instead of the professional. I hope they shoot themselves in the foot with this one.

Not that the world is missing much but in their continued insistence of pissing off those that kept them afloat for years, they are ceasing development of Aperture. Doesn't surprise me since it sucks next to lightroom, but they are abandoning longtime users in almost every turn. If you asked me 4 years ago if I would be on Android right now I would have laughed at you. It was an inconvenient change for me, but they forced my hand. Still enjoy my computers though.

I go through headphones like system goes through emotions... so if I need to get something with a different jack, so be it. everything else in the house is apple... so we keep the iPhones. I don't like customizing the way my phone works.. just show me once and I think I can remember.

Are people having issues with batter life on 5 and 5s'? I have a 5s and can charge at night, use the gps in the am for 2.5 hours, listen to music, and talk on it most of the day and I still have 40% left.... and I left it searching for a signal for 2.5 hours up in podunk while I was on a site visit.

Do you always have access to power? For an extra $50 I have 4 days worth of juice without even batting an eye. Also for another ~$50 I can add 64GB of storage. And can keep adding to my heart content. IPhones were awesome. Now they are crazy wastes of money compared to their counterparts. And don't blame everything else apple in the house. Same with me. I still walk in my house and the phone automatically wireless syncs my contacts and music seamlessly. Compatability is a non-issue for anyone with even basic knowledge of technology.

Dammit, I still use Aperture exclusively. If they throw the towel in on Logic too I don't see much reason to soldier on.

Well, I don't. And I'm sure there are more than a couple people with nice Grado's or Sennheisers that are pretty pissed. Beats is marketing shit just like Skullcandy and Bose.

I hear they are going to add laser beams.

Other then having lasers, there is no reason in the world to stay with iPhone, which is why I am switching.

I tried Apple once, and will do my best to not purchase their products again. I am not an Apple hater, they just don't make sense they way they choose to operate.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

Anyone that reads reviews or looks at tech specs realizes android has been beating apple for the last two generations. It really does not make sense anymore to buy their product anymore.

This thread comes at the perfect time for me since my contract is up and I need a new phone. Really, really, don't want to get another iphone after this 4S for the reasons stated here. I'm still on the old IOS (yea the one from last year) because there wasn't enough memory (16GB) on the phone for the update and I refuse to delete my music, apps, and pictures that are on it. I have a macbook for school and like it, it does a good job running the drafting and programming softwares. Obviously compatibility wise the iphone is probably the best bet but I really can't stand Apple continuously coming out with their proprietary bullshit and trying to monopolize the market. Especially since as far as smart phones go Apple is seriously lacking.

The Sony Xperia Z2 looks really appealing but Verizon isn't picking it up until late summer/fall. Bummer.

Technically those are 6 plusses, not 6's. But anyone who gets a phone that big deserves it anyway.

Not that I give a shit about iDevices, but I bet I could bend my Galaxy S4 Active if I put that much force behind bending it on the sides. As a matter of fact, I just "flexed" it with a tiny amount of force and it was noticeably bendy. If I put enough force in that my hands would shake, I would probably snap the phone in half. Granted, they shouldn't be bending and staying in that position just from being in your pocket, but this dude put an unusual amount of force into trying to bend this.

Umm check the note 3 video bend. He uses way more force than he applied to the icrap 6+ and there is no real noticeable bend that stays in place. I believe there are some HTC one vids too but did not look. The HTC at least gives the bend test more like body style as they are both ALU. No matter the phones should never bend in a pocket IMHO.

I wonder why you didn't read my same sentiments about this shouldn't be happening. I also wonder why testboy didn't run a single Samsung phone through(that I've seen) . If I get enough PayPal interest I'll snap my fucking s4 phone in half live Web cast with comments. Let's do it.
