Forestdale Pre-Patch on June 25th
An afternoon skiing with the dogs and playing in the snow.
The Pre-Patch is on Forestdale Ridge just after the bridge.
Penny and Makisha playing in the snow:
This day I made a couple of attempts at using the self-timer on my camera.
Here is one from the first attempt...
...and one from my second attempt...
I also experimented with "Go-Bro" helmet strap video:
Happy, a little quieter, and a little bit tired dogs on the hike out:

Hey Vets,
Well done with getting after it. (Sorry that we *just* missed out on skiing with you at KW & MM)
So when are we gonna see a Str8Line Patch-Skiing Clinic, then?
This might make you a bit sick, but have you seen what "patches" the UTards had to deal with last week?
(Was gonna post up then but getting issues using TGR nowadays)

Saddlebag Lake on June 27th.
Penny takes a break to cool off during the bootpack up Lower Greenstone:
Lower Greenstone panorama:
I skied the longest available line from upper looker's left to lower looker's right.
Saddlebag Lake panorama:
L to R Saddlebag Lake (far left), Greenstone Lake, After Work Chutes, Greenstone Chutes, Ponds, Lower Greenstone, Greg and Paul's Chute, Mt. Conness, North Peak.
It was pretty suncuppy. I'm wondering if Kook Chute might be smoother.

Dunderberg Peak on June 28th.
Penny enjoying a side view of Jack's Glacier:
Vets bootpacking up Jack's Glacier:
As you can see the only somewhat smooth snow meant a mandatory cold-water swim.
Vets skiing (or navigating) Jack's Glacier...
...the sweet spot?...
...the bridge?...
...looking back up at shark-finned suncupped runnels/runnelled suncups...
While I was skiing Jack's Glacier, Mrs. Vets did a recon mission to the ridge above Hidden Glacier.
From a distance it looked like it might be smoother:
However, when given a closer look there might be somewhat of a suncup concern:
Perhaps on another day.
There was a low effort option to find relatively smoother snow on the drive out.

"The Patch" on June 30th.
I was ready for some smoother easy access snow. So was Powderhound, who also wanted to keep his consecutive month streak alive.
We also had four stunt dogs ready for a good time in the snow.

Dookey67 and I successfully continued our consecutive month streak this day. (BTW - Dookey67 is up to 79 and I'm up to 129.)
First we did five laps on the "Citadel Patch."
Dookey67 skis into the light side...
...so does Vets...

Way to work them patches into the ground - solid summer stoke!

Forestdale Divide Patches, July 8th.
Dookey67 and I made a last minute, late afternoon patchskiing trip to Forestdale Divide. We chose snow patches that offered novelty and variety along with quality. 6 patches in a 3 hour tour.

You can see #2 Middle Section below dookey67. we skied this next.

orsum shit !!!
sooo ... have you ever hit a dog skiing ???
in my shot above, "Nanaq" keep getting too close to me and as I was about to exit a turn my edge hit her legs.
thankfully she was fine as I gave her a good shove. not my dog. none of the dogs you see with me are.
I'm thinking of starting a business ... extreme dog walking !!!

I've had some close calls skiing with dogs. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
One of our dogs,, Makisha, needs added attention, so we often have someone who isn't currently skiing hold her on a leash for everyone's safety. (She will bite at ski tips, has bitten my ski poles and even attempts to bite shovels when anyone is shoveling dirt or snow.)
The following is a different example of her enthusiasm:

Highland Lakes on July 13th
I was joined by Mrs. Vets and our dogs Makisha and Penny for a hike, ski, and swim - sort of a triathlon.

Quality snow that should be skiable into August. It doesn't look likely to make it into October this year without some fresh snowfall.
