I'm not one to bitch about formats all that much... but I do find the new format/text/etc a more distracting or confusing layout than before. It all seems to run together. The font sizing seems off, which makes the layout look more jumbled than organized.
I understand rolling out to a new system/format - but I think there can be a few improvements still. Hopefully the 'beta' version will get revised before finalized.
My $.02.

Thanks for the feedback. We're actively working on issues people are having and requests as well. Stay tuned as we update things...

Format is fine. Font sucks. Borderline unreadable.
Is helvetica neue offending to anyone? Proxima nova is fine for headings, not very readable white on a dark background.

Agree. Who selected, tested, and approved the font? It is very difficult to read more than a handful of posts.

another not-fan-of-the-font here. seems to me a sans-serif would make things way more readable.

My problem with the font is its weight. It's just too thin. Some lines seem to disappear.

In a rare turn of events, it seems like the mobile app works better than the desktop one.

how many people who are having issues with the new font are running Chrome on a Windows machine?

Amazing. I'm reading the first page of new posts in a serif font. I go to page 2 and it's now magically changed to sans serif. WAY better. WAYWAYWAY.

Logging the spacing/font issues. We're clearly seeing a pretty broad variety in people's font experiences and will be addressing it next week.

Figured out what was going on with mine and causing the different font appearances.
I'm using Safari with the following privacy enhancing extensions:
Adblock
Cookie Stumbler
Ghostery
Facebook, Google and Twitter Disconnect
Collusion
When I disable those extensions I see the site in blue in sans-serif. With the extensions running I see it in blue in a serif font. Obviously it would be nice not to have to disable everything to make the site readable.
