What ski am I?
A narrower version of the Bentchetler, in the 108 to 115 range, playful ski, good in powder, chop, trees and groomers. Mid flex and not too heavy?

Line SFB. Doesn't rage in chop but stupid fun for a more playful skier.

Will you be paying full retail or buying on proform?

Isn't the SFB too soft? I'm 6'4", 215.
The Jeffery would be awesome, but hard to find used (which is what I'd be going for)

190 Rocker2 108 (111mm in the 190)
193 Nordica Patron (113mm) is a fantastic ski
193 Gunsmoke (114mm) is a more powerful, and less precise patron.
People who like the Bentchetler seem to like the Moment Deathwish (112mm).
Jeffry makes sense, and will likely be the stiffest of the bunch.

I'm 5,6 , 120, so your definition of a playful, mid flex ski is probably a bit different than mine
fwiw I thought the bacon was a ton of fun bouncing from mound to mound of bumped up chop, but I would agree that its not going to be smoothly carving big radius turns through the same conditions. I was on a pair of 179's for the better part of the morning on an east coast pow day and was pleasantly surprised with how they handled the conditions.
I would agree that the patron is a fantastic ski and I thought the gunsmoke was kind of meh in comparison.

I 2nd the Line SFB... I am 6'4" and 207lbs and the 190 SFB is spot on for what you are asking for... I am a huge fan of Salamon boots and the Rocker 2 108 fits the bill but am not a fan of build quality... I had a blast on my 190 SFBs this last season and it did everything I asked it to very well and put a smile on my face... The only ski I rode more wad my 193 Praxis MVPs...

The Patron are fun for sure, sucky in crud though. Helldorados are slightly better but not much....

You sir, are talking about a Atomic Blog... Duh!
Also Scott Punisher and Salomon Rocker 2 108.

I'm guessing at the OP's size, the Solly rocker2 108 would *not* be all that great in crud.

I was wondering about the Blog - is it like Bentchetler Lite?

Basically yes. I think the blog has always been a very underrated ski at $599 MAP. A very "easy" ski to drive, yet capable holding an edge on harder snow and relatively stable at higher speeds. Have sold plenty of Blogs to those who came through the door looking for Bentchetlers with mostly positive responses.

Following up on this thread...my quiver is a 4Frnt Turbo and Billy Goat. Is there too much overlap if I'm looking at a Salomon Rocker2 108 (in 190, so 111 width), an Atomic Blog or anything else around 110?
The Turbo is listed at 108 but in reality it measures the same as my older 104 wide Gotama.
Also, is the Blog a noodle? How does it compare to an S7?

I skied the 2010 Blog, in 2010, and remember it not being a noodle. I don't know what changes have been made to it over the years but it was definitely stiffer than the 2013 SFB. I've skied the SFB for the last two seasons and it is a super fun ski, also like to add that after 80-90 days on snow they are still in good shape (shout to the durability of a ski made in china, surprisingly). I'm 5'10", 150# so take the following with a grain of salt.
108 to 115 range----------------------check
playful ski-------------------------------check
good in powder----------------------check
chop--------------------------------------not so much
trees and groomers-----------------check, no ice though
Mid flex and not too heavy-------noodlie, but nice and light
You might want to check out the Opus.. 3mm wider than you're stated range and stiffer, but still a playful ski.

Is your evaluation above re: the SFB?
I think the Opus overlaps directly with the Billy Goat?

haven't skied my BG yet but I don't think that's the case, Opus is more center mounted, not stiff, not good in crud. much more playful though and nice to jib around in the pow very easy to ski, I think jeffrey would be a more direct comparison but again from what others say much stiffer and more ability to charge!
I'd compare the BG with the Line 115

Yes sorry should have clarified that.
I haven't skied the Opus or BG myself but have had an in depth conversation with someone who owns both the Opus and SFB. In summation he basically referred to the Opus as a more beefy SFB. As far as overlap between the Opus and BG I guess it depends how you look at it. Waist width maybe, but the overall dims are different, Opus has a much more forward mount point and significantly tighter turn radius than the BG. Flex would be another possible difference but can't speak to that.
^Beat me to it.
