    Surf Racks for Hi-Top Van

    Hey guys,

Looking at the collective wisdom for any advice people can give regarding transport for surfboards/SUP's on a hi-top. We have an old 1970 Ford that we like to camp with summer and winter and bring the toys but the longer boards are quite cumbersome inside at close to 11 feet (have to angle them through that back left corner area all the way to the front) and provide a real issue when it is sleepy time. Anybody have some advice on mounting racks that would work for this. My vision is the j-bar style kayak racks side mounted on the side of the hi-top which I have seen a few pics of online looking around but was hoping for some real life input from anybody that has had success with this (or something else) and could help me out with some tips. Thought is to probably drive highway with them inside still but puts around the beach towns with them on the racks at lower speeds.

I did wide body mounts and picked up a telescoping 8.5' ladder for access. We roll race sups, white water sups, surfboards, rocket boxes, etc on top.
