Kids Lightweight Spin Rod
Son is turning 4 tomorrow and the grandparents are looking for a gift. He's really into Dad fishing and would like to get home something to encourage the enthusiasm before switching over to the fly. Any suggestions on what's out there? Have found a few things at Bass Pro and Cabelas but beyond that haven't found much outside of the typical Toy Story combo...Bass Pro has a LittleTykes combo that has gotten good reviews. Search function doesn't turn up much.

I'd just start him with a cheap fly rod or kid specific one like the Echo Gecko or Bass Pro Cricket. I found with my kid that spin fishing really isn't any easier. You can set up a kid with an indicator and a san juan worm and they can have just as much fun.

I got both my girls ugly stick spincast set ups when they were just 3. They still have them and love using them to this day, now 10/8. Super tough and easy to use and cast a country mile.
