    Scarpa Maestrale RS Sizing

I am asking about sizing ot the Scarpa Maestrale RS boot..

My sole length is 255mm. Now I am asking if there it anyone with same sole
length who has this boot also? Did you buy the mondo 25.5/26 boot or
    smaller/bigger?

How did it fit to your leg? Could anyone give me a good opinion about which
    size should I go with?

I have tested Salomon Quest 120 size 25.5 and it was perfect.. Has anyone
experience with sizing of Quest 120 vs. Maestrale RS?

    Thanks in advance!

sole length is not the same as mondo.

My 26 shell RS's have a 300mm boot sole length (IIRC)

    26 is 297mm
    25 is 288mm

I ski a 296mm (25) Lange RS 140 and the 26 Maestrale RS was way too big. I downsized and might need some toe punching.

Are you referring to the rarely used acronym fsl = foot sole length?

I wear a size 9 shoe. My alpine boots are Rossi/Lange plug boots in a 292 mm bsl, heavily punched and race fit. My old Titans were mondo 25 / 292 bsl and I was losing toe nails. I'm now in size 26 Maestrale RSs, 297 bsl, and the fit feels good with some minor punches. The length is much better for touring.

I'm a US street shoe 9 and went with the 26 as well. The instep was too low for my high instep (had to grind a lot of foam out of the tongue) and the length could be a tad longer, but it's doable and the 26.5 shell would be too big.

    Foot sole lenght

I think so? What I mean, I would like to know how much is there foot space inside the boot shell of Scarpa Maestrale RS mondo 25.5/26 vs. 24.5/25.. (so I could get the info, is the shell too big or small for me.. for example as my foot sole length? is 255mm which shell would be a better fit for me?) this measurement is not the sole lenght or is it?

Thanks to all of you for now!

^^Do you mean the length of your foot is 255 mm? If so, you probably want the 24.5. IME, an ideal alpine bsl is about 30 mm longer than the length of your foot. (This number can drop with touring boots that have shorter rockered soles, but I still think it's a decent rule of thumb.)

I'm sure someone will take issue with this, but I'm curious if it tends to work for most people.

Yeah. The length of my foot is 255mm as I am standing and have pressure on my foot.

So do you guys think that my 255mm long foot will fit inside a 24.5/25 Maestrale RS Shell and still have enough room for the liner as well..

Any experiences on that? Does anyone have a foot with the same length as I (255 mm) and also have 24.5/25 Maestrale shell? Or did you go with the 25.5/26 shell?

    In other words:
    BSL of 24.5/25 is 288mm
    BSL of 25.5/26 is 297mm
But now I would like to know how much is there space (in length) inside the shell of each versions? Is it 30mm less as auvgeek said or more/less?

    thanks!

Theres no way the FSL+30mm=BSL guideline would work for me (260mm FSL), even molding with double toe caps I had to go FSL+37mm=BSL. And though that's fine for skiing with clamped buckles pulling back the heel, for loose-buckle skinning it's still a few mm too short for toes (but I deal with it). FSL+40mm would be the ideal Scarpa AT boot for me, if it existed.
